The
SAFESCAN Portal 9000-C
is a
superior technological solution for ferromagnetic threat detection prior
to magnetic resonance imaging. A proprietary development project of the
National Research Council, Canada (NRC) and Mednovus, Inc., exquisite
sensitivity down to the diamagnetic susceptibility of the human body is
achieved via the use of a large sensing coil system and the application of
a DC magnetic field array - which emits no RF and causes no
interference with MRI quality. The Portal 9000-C is available by special order.
The SAFESCAN Portal 9000-C represents best-of-class
performance, with:
- SUPERB SENSITIVITY – for
ferromagnetic threat objects only (no alarm for non-ferromagnetic
threats). Although no ferromagnetic detection system can claim 100.0 % accuracy,
the Portal 9000-C is uniquely designed to minimize the possibility of missing a
potential ferromagnetic threat object.
- OUTSTANDING INTERFERENCE REJECTION –from outside sources,
such as elevators, moving chairs, doors, etc.
- 32-INCH APERTURE – accommodates
patients on (non-ferromagnetic) gurneys or wheelchairs.
